The Better Bathurst Built Form and Land Use Study provides a clear community vision for the heritage, land use, built form and public realm of Toronto’s Bathurst Street, between Dupont Street and Queen Street West. As part of a consultant team led by DTAH, R.E. Millward & Associates provided land use planning expertise. The initiative emerged in response to:
» Recent development proposals along Bathurst Street.
» Increasing scale of individual projects.
» The need for a vision to guide future change.
» The need to address confusion created by the role Bathurst Street plays as a boundary between the area formally recognized as Downtown and Central Waterfront and the rest of the city.
The resulting report provides recommendations in five categories: Heritage, Land Use, Built Form, Public Realm and Items for Future Study, and will set priorities for future planning decisions and inform development application review for properties along the Bathurst corridor.
